Your team builds the vendor master from a tax certificate, a PAN copy, a cancelled cheque and a registration certificate, all re-typed by hand. Nobody checks any of it against the register that issued it. A transposed digit then sits in the master for years and surfaces when a payment bounces.
You capture enterprise classification once, from a supplier declaration. The obligation follows the supplier actually being registered. So buyers either treat everyone as registered and lose working capital, or treat nobody as registered and carry the exposure.
Suppliers change bank details by email. The only reference your payables team has is the account already sitting in the master.
