We keep no IP addressA page view is a route, a referring host, a broad device type and a salted digest. Your IP address and user agent go into that digest on our server, and we discard both. Fetching the analytics script does reveal your address to Google, which reads a coarse location from it and does not store it with the measurements.
Today's visit cannot be linked to yesterday'sWe key the visitor digest to the UTC day and it rotates at midnight. We count a returning visitor once for that day, and no one can follow you from one day to the next.
Traffic data expires after 400 daysThe service deletes page views itself on a rolling 400-day window. Nothing here waits on a person remembering to schedule a clean-up job.
